POSITION INFO:
Qualification:

Red Seal Qualified Fitter
Sound knowledge of local and state building codes
Ability to use hand and power tools
Ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems
Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
exceptional welding and mechanical skills

Duties:

Study drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine setting
Fit fabricated metal parts into products, assemble metal parts and sub assemblies to produce machines and equipment
Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
Set guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses and set controls for machines
Form metal stock and castings to fine tolerance using machining tool to press, cut, grind, plane bore and drill metal
Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance of machines
Overhaul and repair mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
Erect machines and equipment on site
