Vacancy: Fitter – Mining Processing Environment
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced **Fitter** to join our team in a dynamic mining processing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment used in mineral processing plants. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and related equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs during scheduled and unscheduled plant shutdowns.
- Install, test, and commission mechanical systems in accordance with industry standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a culture of zero harm.
- Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and safety teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Requirements:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter (Red Seal or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Fitter in a mining processing environment.
- Sound knowledge of maintenance practices on bulk commodity and/or precious metal processing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Commitment to safe working practices and familiar with SHEQ regulations.
- Ability to work shifts, overtime, and under pressure as required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
