SUMMARY:

Are you a qualified Mechanical Fitter & Turner with strong machining and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment? This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of production equipment, support plant reliability, and contribute to efficient operations within a fast-paced industrial setting.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery and equipment Carry out machining activities using centre lathes and milling machines Maintain and repair pumps, mixers, centrifuges, and other processing equipment Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal equipment performance Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities to improve reliability Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Support plant and facility maintenance activities as required Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and lockout procedures Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment Strong machining experience, including centre lathes and milling machines Proficiency using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance programmes Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Experience repairing centrifugal and pneumatic pumps Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation Basic computer literacy for maintenance reporting and record keeping Experience in chemical, processing, or industrial manufacturing environments advantageous TIG welding experience advantageous Knowledge of mechanical seal repairs advantageous Qualification: Fitter & Turner (N3-N6) with Trade Test (Red Seal) Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
