JOB SUMMARY:
An instrumentation and materials testing company based in The South of Johannesburg urgently seeks a Fitter and Turner with at least 10 years' experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification

Matric with Mathematics
Trade tested: Fitter and Turner (Preferred but 10 years' experience will be good)

Requirements

Must have at least 10 years' experience and proficient on Conventional Lathe and Turret Mill machines
Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans (Good communication skills)
Physical stamina and strength
Efficient and able to work well under pressure
Experience in using manual, semi-automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

Duties

Analyzing the blueprints and planning the job accordingly to ensure the correct tools are in stock or have been procured in order to carry out the job.
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
Good at math with analytical abilities
Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
Ensure the correct speeds and feeds are used with machining components.
Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
