JOB SUMMARY:
Leading manufacturing concern in their specific niche market is looking for a Fixed Asset Specialist with a strong strategic acumen and the ability to work across the business to amongst others, drive continuous improvement through risk and asset management. Minimum requirements: Degree with SAICA Articles completed, IFRS 16, IAS 16, Business case analysis, continuous improvement within a Manufacturing concern.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

Ideally Honours in Accounting or similar equivalent commercial qualification
Must have completed SAICA training
Chartered Accountant SA (Advantageous)
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the following:
- Manufacturing or Engineering industry (Project based)
- IFRS 16 and IAS 16 knowledge
- Project management/controlling – Working hand in hand with Engineers related to continuous improvement.
- Asset evaluation and decision making
- Asset management within the manufacturing or Engineering concerns
Competent in SAP IM (Investment Management)
Advanced Excel
Adopts a Continuous Improvement approach in their work

RESPONSIBILITIES / KPAS:
Reporting to the Head of Capex Controlling
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for projects from Business Case through to post-implementation reviews and control as well as general support to the controlling team.

Looking after Capital investment projects with a specific focus on the planning of cost and cash flow.
Detailed Business case evaluation and where capital must be utilised.
EBIT and working capital impacts of implemented projects.
Review financial calculations for all material projects including NPV and potential disposals of assets and working capital impacts.
Innovative ideas in relation to continuous improvement.
Coordinate investment committee meetings.
Monitor project returns and reporting thereon.
Coordinate post-investment reviews and review related financial analysis.
Coordinate approval of variations from approved budgets.
Coordinate budgeting/forecasting for project approvals and spend.
Report on capex approvals and phasing of spend as well as foreign exchange impacts.
Review material capitalisations for adequate componentisation.
Important Company support on operational excellence improvements in the plant.
Important Company support on continuous improvement projects.
Manage 2 direct reports responsible for project accounting.
Important Company technical IFRS and group policy support to the business.
Assist with Fixed asset verifications.
Ad hoc Project reporting tasks.
