JOB SUMMARY:
Our Client, a leader in the private medical industry, is in need of a Fixed Assets Controller based at their Head Office in the southern suburbs, Cape Town

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements

Matric
Must have at least 2 - 3 years relevant experience
Previous asset management experience would be advantageous
Knowledge of standard accounting practices to record and track fixed assets
Valid Driver License and use of own vehicle to travel between facilities
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Must have the ability to build relationships with key personnel
Must have the ability to work under pressure

Key Outputs:
Ensure all new assets are recorded and tagged as soon as possible following delivery
Monitor the order database on a daily basis for upcoming Capex purchases
Drive the implementation of a new fixed assets system
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all assets recorded on the fixed assets system
Manage the movement/transfer of assets between hospitals
Manage the sale/disposal of fixed assets and ensure these are pre-authorised and are accounted for correctly on the fixed assets system
Ensure that assets are not misappropriated, lost, or stolen
Ensure that assets are physically verified on a regular basis
Conduct asset counts on a regular basis and provide feedback to management on all significant variances and discrepancies identified
Assist the external auditors with the fixed assets verification process
Reconcile the fixed assets register on the fixed assets system to the trial balance on a monthly basis
Compile a monthly report on all fixed asset additions, comparing actual against budgeted capex
Prepare costing for all imported goods
Prepare monthly inventory of all imported goods
Prepare a monthly inventory list of all goods on hand at the warehouse
Prepare a monthly report on all issues and receipt of goods at the warehouse
Complete monthly report on all assets tagged
Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to fixed assets as requested by management
Filing
General office duties
