Fleet Controller

SUMMARY:

A National Transportation business with a specialization in refrigerated and agricultural transport, is seeking to appoint a Fleet Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be based at their clients’ premises in Paarl, a leading manufacturer of animal feeds to manage a fleet of vehicles.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

1. Route planning and Management of all Collections and Deliveries. The Controller is responsible for the performance of his vehicles. Collections issued must be completed. The Controller is responsible for the delivery performance of his vehicles and the preparation of the delivery manifest.
2. Staff management. Controller to ensure that drivers are on time, presentable, dressed in Company uniform. Make sure that drivers return with the correct documentation and that paper work handed in is complete and correct. Controller to manage all disciplinary action in relation to staff misconduct and performance.
3. Fleet Management. Check all vehicles under your control on a daily basis for any new damage or defects, also ensuring the cleanliness of the cabs.
4. Administration and Reporting. All COF and PRDP documents to be monitored and managed daily. Manage vehicle checklists and complete accurate diesel consumption and service reports. Constant monitoring of all emails.
5. Other tasks may be delegated to you from time to time, and you need to perform these tasks as if it is appointed task

Requirements:

1. Grade 12 / Matric (minimum requirement)
2. Diploma or degree in logistics or supply chain is advantageous
3. Computer literate (Email / Word / Excel / Scheduling programs)
4. Must be a natural problem solver
5. Must be willing to work alternating shifts
6. Must be analytical
7. Must be able to think on feet
