Fleet Controller

SUMMARY:
Our client in the petroleum sector based in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha seeks to employ a Fleet Controller to join their Logistics team.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

• Support planning and operations.
• Maintaining and updating all vehicle and driver records in line with audits so knowledge of auditing will be advantageous.
• Manage training and supervising drivers.
• Keeping customers updated regarding their orders.
• Preparing and presenting logistics reports to senior management.
• Taking important health and safety measures to avoid quality control issues.
• Help getting transporters safe loaded at majors.
• Assisting with general break downs.
• Booking drivers into accommodation. Finding new vendors if need be.
• Monitoring fleet via telematics and camera software.
• Ensure all customers get marked on Webfleet to be able to send co-ordinates.
• Site inspections.
• Ensure drivers have correct PPE.
• Ensure the right procedures are followed when taking a fuel sample to get sent away for testing.
• Liaising with wearcheck regarding fuel sample results.
• Incident and accident investigations.
• Co-ordinating spill clean ups.
• Co-ordinating windscreen fitments.
• Contactable should anyone have an accident with the fleet.
• Compiling hearing evidence needed from trackers, cctv etc.
• Downloading of any cctv footage at the depot.
• Admin on the sales tracker ensuring all sales/operations vehicles are dedicated to the correct group. Ensure management of each group receive required reports.
• Ensure fleet cameras are operational and in working condition.
• Ensure footage of incident/accident are retrieved and saved.
• New installation of fleet camera equipment.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of trucks, maintenance and logistics
• Strong administrative skills
• Be able to work unsupervised and logically
• Must be able to work after hours and sort out delivery issues
• Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, Microsoft)
• Able to work under pressure
