A Fleet Coordinator vacancy is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium's Perinatal HIV Research Unit (PHRU) in Soweto, Johannesburg - Gauteng.
POSITION INFO:
Background
The Perinatal HIV Research Unit (Wits PHRU) was established in 1996. The Perinatal HIV Research Unit has been involved in research, training, policy formation, and advocacy in issues concerning HIV-positive women and their children.
In recent years the work of the unit has expanded beyond the original focus of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, to include treatment trials in adults and children, prevention research, psychosocial research, and policy development. In addition, the Unit has developed an HIV vaccine clinical trials unit (HVCTU) and started with HIV Vaccine Trials back in 2001.
The unit is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in the field of research and policy in the area of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. It has also developed a reputation as a leading African research unit for clinical trials in adults and children with HIV, with one of the largest cohorts.
Main purpose of the job
- To provide operational support to the Administration Manager in developing and enforcing vehicle operating procedures for the Organization’s fleet
- To assist the Administration Manager with the day-to-day smooth running and reports of the department
Location
- PHRU – Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Soweto
Key performance areas
- Coordination of fleet across all sites

Driving duties

Assist in allocating the use of vehicles and Drivers daily

Liaise with management for daily transport schedules
-
Ensure that the relevant vehicle usage forms are completed in accordance with policy
-
Vehicle inspections, booking for service and repairs
-
Accident Reporting and administration
-
Logging insurance claims
-
Licensing and renewal of discs
-
Assist with ad hoc administrative and maintenance duties
-
Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrates effective self-management

Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
Required minimum education and training
Required minimum work experience
- At least 3-4 years relevant working experience in Fleet Environment
Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities
- GCP Certification
- Punctuality and excellent time management
- Maintain a professional image
- Ability to work without supervision
- Organizational, leadership and team skills
- Attention to detail
