Food & Beverage Manager

POSITION INFO:

A full service hotel is in search of an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to join the team.

Minimum Experience and Qualification Required:

• Matric / Grade 12

• Post-matric hotel school qualification would be advantageous

• 3 – 5 years experience in a 4-star hotel, resort or similar environment

• Computer literate

• Good understanding of POS systems

• Previous leadership role

• Excellent communication skills

• Good numeracy skills

• Good wine knowledge

• High level of English proficiency

• Ability to plan

• Ability to train and develop a team

• Must be motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic

• Must be a team player, with a positive attitude

• Must be willing to work shifts

• Must be able to work under pressure

• Own transport

Responsibilities:

• Lead by example with a hands-on approach

• Plan, forecast and execute food and beverage orders

• Managing Of Stock (Beverage & OE)

• Process customer complaints patiently

• Check food and beverage supplies and place orders when needed

• Communicate and build strong relationships with vendors

• Adhere to food, health, and safety standards

• Plan, hire, train, oversee and manage the members of staff

• Oversee and supervise the welcoming of customers

• Always strive towards an exceptional customer experience

• Organize, direct, and evaluate food and beverage service.

• Performance management; monitor staff performance and provide feedback.

• Purchase and control of inventory.

• Monitor revenues and expenses.

• Oversee all events (Booking, Planning & Co-Ordinating)

This is a live-out position. Ideally candidates should already reside in or in close proximity to Knysna.
