Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

SUMMARY:
Recruiting for a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager (FSQAM). This position is responsible for ensuring that the company is FSSC22000 certified and complies with all relevant company policies, industry standards and government legislation relating to food safety. This position is also responsible for the management of quality and the lab.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• This person is also the representative for environmental management
• The role must drive continuous improvement in these areas through monitoring and auditing compliance to the agreed standards
• Have implemented a GFSI Food Safety System and/or has at least 5 years' experience as a Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager
• Outstanding internal auditing skills on FSSC22000 (or any other GFSI System)
• Internal auditing experience on ISO14001 will be to the applicant’s advantage
• Lab management experience
• MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Conduct internal audits on systems: FSSC2200 and IP handling
• Report writing and effective corrective action
• Feedback to management
• Ensure that external audits by customers and certification bodies are successful, to achieve certification and supplier approval
• Ensure world class hygiene practices as per ISO22002
• Management of the lab, i.e. efficiency of lab equipment, and monitoring quality, record keeping, statistics etc.
• Responsible for quality and daily product reviews and reporting
• Sample analysis at external and internal labs and the assessment of COA’s with trend analysis
• Liaise with customers on complaints, do root cause analysis, identify corrective and preventive actions, follow up on effectiveness and draw up graphs thereon
