Job Title: Food Technologist

Our client in the FMCG sector, situated in Tulbagh, is looking or a Food Technologist to join their team as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development activities to create new food products or enhance existing ones, from concept to commercialization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Production to ensure product specifications are met and projects are completed on time.
• Utilize scientific principles and techniques to formulate recipes, optimize processes, and improve product quality and shelf-life.
• Perform sensory evaluations and analyze data to assess product attributes and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and regulatory requirements to inform product development strategies.
• Participate in pilot plant trials and production scale-ups, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• National Senior Certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Food Technologist in the food industry.
• NPD (New Product Development) experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and food processing technologies
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to travel and potentially relocate for job opportunities within the company.

Area: Tulbagh 

Salary: R20 000-R30 000 CTC per month 

Start date: ASAP
