Job Title: Food Technologist
Our client based on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal is looking for a motivated and detail-driven Food Technologist. The ideal candidate will be experienced in product development, quality assurance, and food safety within the food manufacturing industry.
Requirements:
-
National Diploma or Degree in Food Technology or Food Science
-
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within the food industry

Knowledge of R&D and food labelling regulations is essential
-
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
-
Ability to communicate in isiZulu and/or isiXhosa
-
Willingness to work overtime and relocate if needed
Responsibilities:
-
Conduct training and provide translation support where required
-
Drive New Product Development (NPD) and manage R&D trials
-
Perform nutritional/shelf-life sampling and costings (BOMs)
-
Conduct hygiene inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
-
Collect samples, perform swabbing, and analyse data
-
Investigate wastage and assist with NCR tracking
-
Ensure recipe adherence, packaging compliance, and traceability
-
Support quality teams and oversee hygiene practices
-
Monitor staff timekeeping and assist with performance management
