SUMMARY:
Forklift Driver / Technical Assistant

Our client specializing in Galvanizing of steel is on a recruitment drive for a Technical Assistant / Forklift driver to join their Depot in George.
The ideal candidate must be physically fit, have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Ensure the depot is clean and tidy at all times
• Assisting clients – loading and off-loading
• Forklift – ensure that the forklift is in good working condition, fuel / oil as and when needed
• Basic administration skills – including answering phones as and when needed
• Assisting with technical duties i.e. drilling holes when required
• Assist with dispatching / receiving and ensure all products are dispatched and returned in line with client’s stock received
• Any other duties that may be required by senior management

• Forklift license
• Basic computer skills
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Basic technical skills – use of hand tools
• 2 years in a similar role and / or worked in building retail environment
• Basic knowledge of steel and steel products

• Excellent communication
• Organized
• Solid understand of hand-tools
• Steel and steel product knowledge
• Multi-tasking
• Ability to use own initiative
