SUMMARY:
Forklift Driver / Technical Assistant

Our client specializing in Galvanizing of steel is on a recruitment drive for a Technical Assistant / Forklift driver to join their Depot in George.
The ideal candidate must be physically fit, have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Ensure the depot is clean and tidy at all times
Assisting clients – loading and off-loading
Forklift – ensure that the forklift is in good working condition, fuel / oil as and when needed
Basic administration skills – including answering phones as and when needed
Assisting with technical duties i.e. drilling holes when required
Assist with dispatching / receiving and ensure all products are dispatched and returned in line with client’s stock received
Any other duties that may be required by senior management

Qualifications:

Forklift license
Basic computer skills
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Basic technical skills – use of hand tools
2 years in a similar role and / or worked in building retail environment
Basic knowledge of steel and steel products

Steel and steel product knowledge

Ability to use own initiative
Excellent customer service
