POSITION INFO:
A foundry in Germiston seeks a qualified Millwright to perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance. The successful candidate must be able to: Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production machinery. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults. Install, align, test, and commission machinery and equipment. Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime. Conduct routine inspections and identify potential failures. Read mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals. Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and reports. Assist with shutdowns, upgrades, modifications, and installations. Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Perform any other reasonable maintenance duties as instructed. The successful candidate should have: Qualified Millwright with Red Seal certification. Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in maintenance within a foundry industry. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Knowledge of furnaces, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and pumps. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Ability to manage breakdowns timeously. PLC fault-finding experience, computer literacy, and maintenance system experience. Valid driver''s licence and willingness to work shifts, standby, and overtime. Honest, reliable, self-motivated, proactive, with strong conflict management skills. Team player, adaptable, safety-conscious, organised, and able to manage self under pressure.
