SUMMARY:
Our client is a fresh-produce handling and distribution center located in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). They consolidate products from local growers as well as imported product containers, and distribute to major retailers. We are recruiting for their Commercial / General Manager to run the daily operations and trading.

POSITION INFO:

QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric with a relevant three-year tertiary education

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations management
• Experience with procurement and sales of fresh fruit and vegetables
• Extensive product knowledge on fresh produce varieties
• Management experience of a small team (3-5 people)
• Excellent computer literacy

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Lead the team and manage business operations
• Maintain productive relationships with current and new producers and clients
• Fully responsible for procurement and sales within the business
• Identify and pursuit opportunities to expand business
• Analyse sales and finance reports to gain insights into how to improve performance and maximize growth
• Ensure profitability of business
• Report to Directors on all business aspects
