  The Role:

  Responsibilities:

  ArcGIS Enterprise

  • Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online
  • Prepare for Publishing of spatial data/imagery/maps
  • Configure apps
  • Assist the GIS team with the integration of GIS and other business applications
  • Assist users with creating web apps using non-GIS data
  • Troubleshooting
  • Monitoring of all (apps, maps, and image services) availability of services
  • Creating and managing of users and named user licenses
  • App training and support

  Enterprise Geodatabase

  • Maintenance
  • Metadata
  • Sharing
  • Collaboration with external data providers
  • Monitoring of availability

  ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro

  • Assist with GIS users support issues logged at the SITA Help Desk
  • Resolve Esri software or data issues logged at the SITA Help Desk
  • Troubleshooting in the event where ArcGIS License Server is not available
  • Allocating licenses to users

  Spatial Data Projects and Impromptu projects

  • Assist with preparation for GIS Product demonstrations
  • Map production
  • Preparing of spatial and non-spatial data
  • Spatial Analysis
  • 3D Analysis
  • Documentation, (MS Word, Power Point)

  Spatial data dissemination tasks

  • Documenting and archiving of Terms and Conditions signed by internal and external users requesting spatial data.
  • Preparing of spatial data to internal and external users.
  • Dissemination of spatial data to internal and external users.
  • Incorporate new datasets in DWS Data Download app.

  GIS Help Desk (ITSM9 SITA)

  • Monitoring of the SITA Help Desk System
  • Assist with help desk support calls

  Research

  • Explore the latest Esri Technologies and make recommendations on how it can be applied.
  • Keep abreast of the latest GIS trends.

  Skills and Experience:

  Preferred Qualification:

  • SAGC Registration
  • Diploma in Geo-Information and Technology (GIScT) from Esri South Africa
    (students who are busy completing the last year of the diploma will be considered
  • GIS Qualification
  • Esri Training

  Experience Required:

  • Experience in working with government clients water service delivery.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the use of Esri Software.
  • Microsoft SQL Server basic skills.
  • Python
  • JavaScript, HTML, JSON
  • ArcGIS Enterprise and Desktop Products
  • Microsoft Office
  • GIS project work

  Other:

  Work environment:

  • Office based but could be required to work from home due to unplanned circumstances.
  • Based in Pretoria

  Travel:

  • In very rare circumstances traveling may be required to Provincial site offices.
