GL Accountant

SUMMARY:
A well known FMCG company based in Johannesburg is seeking to employ a talented GL Accountant. Oracle experience would be an advantage.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for Skills/Education/Experience:

• High level accounting knowledge
• Precision and attention to detail
• Ability to solve practical problems
• High level of confidentiality
• Ability to organize and prioritise day to day workload
• High level knowledge of MS Excel and Macros if possible

Education:
• Matric essential
• BCom Finance Degree or related

Experience:
• Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in financial accounting

Job Responsibilities:
• Zambia month end reporting and ad-hoc month end reporting tasks
• Zambia One stream reconciliation (only GL-that means excluding leases , tax , banks ,AR , AP )
• Responsible for all relevant External and Internal Audit submissions (only GL-that means excluding leases , tax , banks, AR , AP )
• Key contact for Zambia
• All ad-hoc queries relating to Zambia.
• Support the FP&A team with queries.
• Accrual for EMEA accruals for South Africa, Zambia and Satellite markets
• Ensure that all relevant month end reporting files are completed and uploaded on the portal.
• Responsible for the Zambia General Ledger to Trial Balance Accounting.
• Preparation of the monthly Payroll Journals for South Africa and Zambia.
• Preparation, reconciliation and payment of all Payroll Taxes for South Africa and Zambia.
• Responsible for all EMEA Accruals for South Africa and Zambia.
• Responsible for month end closing and relevant Balance Sheet reconciliation in Trintech up to review status for South Africa and Zambia. (only GL-that means excluding leases ,banks , tax , AR , AP )
• Support any ad-hoc all Finance Related special projects, support local, Regional and Corporate requirements / requests under supervision support of Finance Management.
• Back-up for the Process and Reconciliation of the Fixed Asset and Tax for South Africa and Zambia
