Our client is seeking a focused, passionate, and detail-oriented individual to join their iGaming team as Gameplay Risk Specialist. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and risk management skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Protect corporate assets by identifying fraudulent behaviour conducted by existing or new application players that attempt to defraud the company.
- Identify and Monitor Gameplay Abuses, by proactively identify gameplay patterns, bonus abuse strategies and develop targeted interventions to prevent exploitation.
- Monitor and assess player activity to detect abnormal betting behavior, ensuring game fairness and maintaining trust in our offerings.
- Perform daily risk assessments and player behavior patterns by evaluating players within the context of gameplay and bonuses. Perform risk assessments to identify high risk players who might attempt to exploit the system or use temporary bugs/gaps in game mechanics/campaign TCs to their advantage.
- Ensure customer due diligence and engagement with players to provide assistance regarding suspicious gameplay activities, especially when escalated by customer support or automated detection tools. Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) protocols, and verify documentation and sources of funds, when necessary, especially in high-stakes gameplay.
- Liaise with 3rd party Payment/fraud providers for enhanced investigations or resolutions linked to Player issues.
- Evaluate and identify suspicious behavior, as well asindependently report Suspicious Transaction Reports (SAR) to the MLRO and deputy.
- Conduct enhanced ongoing monitoring and compiling of additional due diligence wherethis may be needed.
- Analyse, prepare and handle chargeback disputes.
- Compile and handle daily reports and account reviews, under the supervision of the Payments and Risk Team Leader.
Requirements:

Matric (NQF 4) or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced, high-performing commercial environment, preferably within the iGaming industry.

Strong knowledge of fraud validation tools and processes.

Knowledge of sports risk management will be an advantage.

Prior experience in fraud management is required.

Experience in handling customer service queries is preferred.

Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and a problem solver.

Naturally inquisitive, alert to irregular activity, and innovative in identifying process improvements.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
