SUMMARY:
Our client has an opportunity available for a General Manager: Mining Operations, based in the Burgersfort, Limpopo area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

B degree/B Tech in Mining Engineering is essential
Valid Blasting Certificate & Mine Manager’s Certificate is essential
Minimum of 5 year’s working experience as an appointed Mine Manager is essential
Minimum of 15 years mining related working experience, preferably in a conventional narrow reef mining environment is essential
Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential
Job related knowledge and exposure to the following fields are essential:

Stopping
(Mine) development
Shafts
Project/methodologies
Survey, Ventilation, Rock engineering, Geology, Accounting, Engineering
HR & employee relations (ER/IR)

KPAs:

Develop and implement the strategic plan for the mine and directly assist the Operations Executive in the strategic management process
Ensure production targets and profit margins are achieved cost-effectively on a sustainable basis for the mine
Track and report on progress in delivering the mining strategic and operational plans
Implement and maintain sound people management practices to ensure a productive workforce
Ensure environmental and corporate social investment concerns are managed as a strategic focus area.
