General Manager

SUMMARY:
An Internal Vacancy exists for a General Manager, Finance in the Technical Division at Head Office in Centurion  
 
 
The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:  

POSITION INFO:

• Provide financial advice to the business that takes into account financial best practice.

• Using exceptional communication and influencing skills to develop and maintain high-level stakeholder relationships.

• Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and implementing financial strategies.

• Manage internal controls, monitor financial performance, and work with other departments to achieve financial goals.

• Strategic direction and execution of all commercial activities within the division, focusing on driving revenue, profitability, internal controls adherence and efficiencies.

• Prepare and implement long and short-term financial plans, budgets, and capital.

• To prepare monthly, quarterly, and financial year-end financial reports on a timely manner.

• To maintain and develop accounting financial systems and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience in all aspects of the Financial function.

• Prepare and implement long and short-term financial plans and budgets.

• Preparation of annual budgets and consolidation.

• Preparation of forecasts and consolidation.

• Exhibits sound conceptual and analytical skills and apply intellect and knowledge in identifying critical factors and issues.

• Implementing cost-reduction initiatives and driving efficiency gains.

• Commercial and Contract knowledge.

• Assist/Review of pricing, bids and quotes

• Knowledge of WIP management, Job Costing and Contract profitability management.

• Responsible for Risk, Governance and Legal matters for the divisions.

• Ensure compliance to Group and Company Policies and Procedures

• High performance required in terms of daily financial management of divisions, e.g. ensure proper allocation of revenue and costs per project, coordinate with procurement and warehouse for cost efficiency, ensure billing is timely and aligned with project milestones, etc.

• Understanding of internal control procedures and ability to develop and co-ordinate improvements in this area.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, project managers and suppliers.

• Good understanding of the Operations within the Security Industry as well as other functions in the Organisation.

• B. Com/ Compt. degree compulsory.

• CA (SA)/CIMA/ACCA qualification is an advantage.

• SAP experience is advantageous (ERP/Project Finance tools).

• Relevant experience in a Management Accountant/Operational Finance Manager role will be advantageous.

• Relevant experience in SAP & VIP advantageous.

• MS Office essential and above average working knowledge of Excel.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

• The ability to communicate and present at all levels.

• Deadline driven.

• Driver's licence and own transport.

• Clean disciplinary, credit and criminal record.

• Required to work overtime during critical periods in finance, especially during the month and yearend.
