General Manager

SUMMARY:
One of the top 30 global logistics providers and listed on the JSE in South Africa, is seeking a General manager to join their outstanding team.

POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

• Manage all aspects of a the Dedicated Contracts including but not limited to assisting in the creation and implementation of the strategic plans, ensuring the achievement of budgeted profits, overall growth and sustainability and creating and maintaining sound relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• At least 5 – 10 years operational management experience with 5 years’ senior management responsibilities within Contract Logistics or General Logistics & Supply Chain environment.
• Experience in working with budgets as big as/ close to R 3-4 hundred million per year
• A strong transport and warehouse operational experience
• Previous experience with a WMS or SAP a distinct advantage.
• Previous budgeting and cost control experience essential.
• Candidates must have excellent leadership skills and must demonstrate a management style which is strongly focused on efficiencies and compliance
• Thorough knowledge of operational system, policies and procedures
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Office
• Aptitude to work with IT systems
• Working knowledge of relevant IR legislation, BC agreement / policies / procedures
• Working knowledge of relevant technical requirements of material handling equipment, fleet and warehouses
• Knowledge and awareness of developments and trends within the Logistics field
• Ability to compile a strategic business plan and financial budget
• Ability to interpret financial information
• Report writing and presentation skills
• Continuous improvement to drive cost and improve customer experience
• Fair level of Commercial acumen/ modules
• Get billing right

Education:

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/Operations management/Logistics

 Remuneration:

   CTC package between R1 000 000 and R1 -----
