General Manager

SUMMARY:
General Manager required to direct and control all company activities in order to generate the required return on investment and to ensure the long-term sustainability of the company.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

• Apply the policies and guidelines as issued by the Executive Committee.
• Define business objectives through budget and strategic planning.
• Monitor the development of the results of the company and carry out final responsibility for achieving these objectives.
• Report on the financial results of the company.
• Ensure that ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System is maintained within the company through delegation to all responsible employees.
• Maintain the accreditation of the certified standards viz, SANS 952, SANS 1381 and various agreement certificates.
• Ensure that adequate organization structures, resources, plans, procedures, systems and controls are in place to attain agreed goals and objectives.
• Ensure that the company conforms to the Statutory and Regulatory factors which the work environment including Safety, Health and Environmental issues.
• Ensure that people of the correct caliber are employed in the respective positions are motivated and competently trained in order to reach the company objectives.
• Ensure that harmonious Human and Industrial relations exist within the company.
• Prepare together with the Sales Manager develop a marketing strategy / information related to the business and provide detailed analysis with necessary action to ensure a proactive response to market changes.
• Optimize the use of Working Capital.
• Generate a cash flow that meets the agreed targets.
• Define the company’s strategic planning decisions and new business developments.
• Manage branch through an organization / reporting structure as approved in the Annual Operating Budgets.
