Our client in the FMCG Manufacturing industry is searching for a General Manager to join their Pretoria North plant.

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Manufacturing / Supply Chain, Engineering or Commercial Degree
• Honours Degree
• 4 – 6 years managerial experience
• Experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
• 4 – 6 years post-graduate business experience

Job Purpose:

To manage all aspects of the operational site to ensure the achievement of the business strategy, including all resources and processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Compliance

• Ensure compliance to relevant legislation, policies and standards, both from within and outside the organisation.

Performance

• Direct activities of the operation in order to ensure the operation performs to required standard and practices a culture of continuous improvement.
• Co-ordinate activities of human resources to ensure that each functional area delivers on required outcomes.
• Report on and clarify operational performance statistics as required

Financial

• Review and control costs within the operation Interpersonal
• Liaise and interact with customers to ensure optimal customer relations, in regard to manufactured quality
• Interact with all stakeholders in the operation to facilitate smooth relations, in regard to manufactured quality

Strategic

• Develop, align and implement strategies to deliver on divisional strategies
• Review, establish & implement policies or practices as required to achieve required outcomes.

CanDO Excellence

• Monitor team performance and progress against plan, taking corrective action where necessary. Provide feedback to team members and coach where necessary. Ensure unacceptable performance is dealt with effectively and timeously and that good performance is recognised.
• Facilitate and manage team meetings effectively, using Visual Management to discuss team performance. Encourage participation from all team members.
• Drive and encourage the team to apply the Foundation Practices, ensure adherence to standards and coach team in Foundation principles and practices.
