General Manager - Pottchefstroom Area (Head office in JHB)
Fruit Farm
BSc in Agriculture or related
General Manager with extensive experience in managing an agricultural business. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the overall management and leadership functions on the farm.
POSITION INFO:
Additional qualification in business management or administration will be advantageous
Minimum of 10 years in a similar role
Planning, implementation, and monitoring of the total production process, with a strategic direction.
Ensure achievement of production targets by preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting.
Ensure accurate reports. Implement control measures to ensure that overheads are controlled to budget and continuously strive to reduce costs through enhanced efficiencies.
Ensure harvesting, spray programs, new orchard developments, irrigation, etc. are managed effectively.
Ensure that assets are well maintained and are kept in 100% operational conditions at all times.
Must maintain professional networks and keep abreast of development in agricultural science.
