JOB SUMMARY:

A leader in the production and supply of agricultural and cold chain food products is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to ensure the development of the company’s Animal Feed business in Zambia by directing business operations across departments and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a tertiary qualification in Animal Science and Nutrition
A post graduate degree in Business or Agriculture would be an added advantage
Must have minimum 8 years’ experience at senior management level in Animal Nutrition/Feed/Health Industry
Marketing experience of quality products to customers is essential
Strong commercial acumen and good communication skills are important
Proven track record in team development and effective leadership skills will be required
Must have excellent oral and written skills in English

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Creating strategic plans to allow company's products to achieve excellent market exposure and for the development of company's business in Zambia.
Building business relationships by establishing good communication within the company through routine meetings within teams, and externally with key accounts, customers, suppliers and industry.
Preparing monthly reports to be submitted to the Chief Operating Officer such as management reports, profit and loss report, and operational reports.
Directing business operations across the departments to ensure production produces quality products, sales are met as planned and quality decision making that benefit customers.
Preparing annual sales and expense budgets, evaluation of annual budgets and managing company resources in a cost-effective manner.
Establishing price schedules and profit margins for all product categories.
Negotiating contracts necessary for conducting business and capital expenditure (within authority levels).
Working closely with the Financial Manager to ensure that the company will meet its financial objectives.
Ensuring adherence of Health and Safety standards.
Ensuing performance management and competency building through skills and knowledge transfer, and supporting and guiding team members in compliance with business processes; policies and procedures while with keeping abreast of latest developments.
Leadership and strategy building in the annual budgeting and execution of the procurement of raw materials for the manufacturing plants.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience
