General Manager - Automotive Dealership (Retail)

SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a GM with experience in an automotive dealership environment for their business in Khartoum, Sudan. You will be responsible for General Management of the business in line with group strategy in order to maximize sales volumes, profitability and market share as well as to optimize customer service levels .

POSITION INFO:

Education:

English / Arabic language proficiency willbe a strong recommendation but this would not necessarily exclude applicants who met or exceed the other requirements .    

Computer Skills

A tertiary business qualification such as a general business, marketing or technical or 3 Year diploma

10 years experience in general management in an automotive environment.

Attributes:

Both technical and sales knowledge and experience would be strong recommendations.

Have considerable leadership skills               

Have the courage to make unpopular decisions .

Be a self – starter who is able to work independently and who has a proven ability to manage people , budgets and assets .

Have a strong drive .      

Have entrepreneurial instincts. 

Be experienced in initiating and managing change .          

Be prepared to work the long hours necessary in a retail operation.         

Be a good facilitator and negotiator .

Responsibilities:

To effectively manage the multi – disciplinary staff of business to achieve the set objectives 

To ensure the development , implementation , monitoring and management of budgets for sales volumes , sales revenue, costs and gross and net profits 

To ensure the management of cash flow to meet or exceed the requirements of all stakeholders

Adherence to the business plan in order to enhance the competitive advantage of the business 

To ensure optimum management of inventory of vehicles spares so as to improve on stock turnaround times 

To ensure that attraction , motivation , development and retention of high potential employees and to oversee the management of their performance 

To ensure that all legal requirements and safety standards are observed to all times 

To develop and maintain healthy and productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders such as customers , suppliers, company and head office staff and service providers
