SUMMARY:
A top position ideally suited to an experienced Business Development Manager with a degree or equivalent in Engineering or Marketing alternatively an MBA. 10 to 15 years sales/marketing experience with industrial chemicals, water treatment and service projects are essential. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Preference will be given to EE candidates.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

  • Degree or Equivalent - BSC Engineering /B.Com Sales & Marketing or MBA (Business Administration)
  • 10 - 15 years business development/sales experience in the Industrial Chemicals, Water and Waste Water Industry and Service Projects
  • Extensive knowledge of Water/Waste Water and proven track record
  • Knowledge of fundamental contractual issues in business as well as commercial skills and sound business financial acumen
  • Strong financial acumen wit some training of P&L''s and Project profitability assessment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Dynamic, confident and passionate self starter
  • Proven track record building and maintaining successful client relationships and high level contacts throughout Southern Africa
  • Self reliant and persistent with a passion for business development and marketing


 Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working to the latest ISO 9001 requirements as part of the Executive management for the company with total confidentiality of all company information, internal and external relating the business.
  • Lead the defining of annual sales budget and exceeding the targets in line with the company strategy, focusing of specific sales and segments within SA
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers / contacts to give the company a competitive edge
  • Optimise bookings, bid strategies and sales and marketing opportunities in SA and Southern Africa
  • Promote the image and profile of the company in a professional manner
  • Ensure consistent visibility of the Company through regular presentations of products and technologies at appropriate & current seminars and conferences
  • Continuous training of industry knowledge for self and team to keep up to date with market developments
  • Regular feedback to Management Team on progress within various business segments
  • Management, focus and guidance of Teams within Business Development, Marketing and Communications
  • Ensure all business lines/activities are promoted to all clients in order to enhance the company footprint
  • Formulate the Division''s strategy in alignment with the Company''s strategic goals and translate them into agreed goals for the Employees of the Division
  • Provide leadership and support and ensure awareness and commitment to the company vision and strategy
  • Manage and lead commercial and contractual matters
  • Manage all activities associated with the conversion of leads/sales into contracts
  • Obtain information on future projects
  • Maintain and develop client relationships in a professional manner
  • Travel throughout Southern Africa to company projects
  • Entertaining of customers to promote sales and business growth
  • Ensure the coordination of plant surveys and manage employee compilation of data to develop positive information
  • Assist and guide other departments if necessary
  • Attend sales meeting and seminars as well as budget meetings
  • Responsible for the presentation of Tenders to the customers with support from back office teams
  • Create a win/win situation between the company and clients
  • Research competitor information
  • Perform any other duties required by the CEO
