General Manager: Legal Recoveries and Insolvency

Our client has an opportunity available for a General Manager in Legal Recoveries and Insolvency based in Centurion.

Requirements:

• LLB degree or equivalent.
• Admission as an attorney.
• 8+ years’ experience in legal recoveries or a debt collection environment- preferably in a bank at senior management level.
• 8 years’ experience the restructuring of distressed accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Legal and Solvency Strategy development and oversee the legal recovery process.
• Manage various functions within Legal Recoveries to maximise cost effective recoveries.
• Develop, implement and enforce right-off processes and related policies.
• Manage and monitor the matters that are referred to attorneys and debt collectors as well as for liquidation.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the attorneys.
• Drives stakeholder alignment and satisfaction by utilising sound stakeholder management techniques.
• Maintain relationships with external service providers and handle their queries timeously.
• Manage and maintain relationships with clients.
• Maintain relationships with the relevant government departments.
• Drive the recovery of money on properties subject to land claims and track all claims to ensure that maximum recovery takes place.
• Negotiate and finalise sales agreements for land claim properties.
• Manages effective disposal of Bought in Properties by the Bank.
• Analyse the business plan to determine the applicable deliverables and targets.
• Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary.
• Determine the human resource requirements, in accordance with the expected deliverables and current capacity.
• Develop and manage budgets.
• Adhere to financial guidelines and thus ensure proper control over expenditure.
