SUMMARY:
Revenue Accountant /Business Manager / Pricing Analyst / Hospitality Business Manager

POSITION INFO:

Our client is a public entity in the tourism and hospitality sector and they are based in Pretoria. They seek the services of the General Manager: Revenue and Yield in their Tourism and Marketing Division.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the company’s tourism operations nationwide and across all platforms.
• Oversee and guide the annual revenue budget process for tourism operations.
• Analyse tourism performance and make recommendations to improve long term strategies.
• Create and develop pricing strategies and tactics for the company’s tourism operations nationwide
• Forecast and report on monthly, quarterly and annual revenues, variances and budget comparisons.
• Perform and report on competitive benchmark studies, competitor analysis, environmental scanning and market trends analysis for strategic decision making
•  Develop and implement best practice standards in yield management; forward booking management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts
• Oversee the standards and operations of the reservations department.
• Oversee the implementation, management and audit of tourism standards across the organisation.
• In conjunction with the IT department, ensure that all online booking processes are well maintained, up-to-date and functional.
• Manage contractual relationships of distribution partners in the interests of the company
•  Constantly determine and implement efficiency improvement and cost reduction interventions in relevant business processes.
• Maintain visibility and presence in tourism operations to gain insight into revenue management issues and provide guidance and coaching on best practice where necessary.
• Any other reasonable requests made by management.

Qualifications and experience

• Be in possession of a Degree in Commerce/ Business or related fields; a Postgraduate Qualification in Commerce/ Business or related fields will be desirable.
• Should have at least 5 – 10 years’ experience in middle to senior management in the area of hospitality and yield management at a strategic level.
• An in-depth understanding of sales and sales management in the hotel and general hospitality industry.
• In-depth understanding of the South African tourism sector and its value chain
•  Familiarity with financial management
• Knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Business insight and risk awareness.
• Projections and assessment of macro-environment.
• Computer skills including working knowledge of e-commerce
• Strong numerical, analytical, research skills.
• General business skills.

Remuneration:

R891k – R1, 46m p/a + benefits.
