General Manager: Technical Services

SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry, has an opportunity available for a General Manager: Technical Services to be based in the Burgersfort, Limpopo area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• B degree/B Tech in Mining Engineering / Geology or Rock Engineering is essential
• Minimum of 5 year’s working experience as an appointed Technical Services Manager is essential
• Minimum of 12 years mining / technical services related working experience, preferably in a conventional narrow tabular mining environment
• Professional registration with relevant mining associations
• Other relevant Certificate of Competency for Technical Services or Mine Manager ’s Certificate of Competency
• Job related knowledge and exposure to the following fields:
• Stoping, Development, Shafts, Mine Planning, Survey, Ventilation, Rock Engineering, Geology

KPAs:

• Champion safety as the foremost priority at the operation
• Develop and implement the strategic plan for the mine and directly assist the Operations Executive in the strategic management process
• Management of the geotechnical, VOHE and survey functions for the mine
• Oversee underground mine excavation design and monitoring
• Ensuring effective cross functional coordination between geology, mine planning, survey and VOHE for the provision of efficient and effective technical services.
