Key Performance Areas/Key Responsible Areas

1. Manage all primary healthcare patients referred to by The Medical Society clinicians.

2. Initiate and analyse treatment plans.

3. Explain and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.

4. Monitor patient progress and response to treatments.

5. Diagnose and manage chronic disease patients (in accordance with the designated scheme rules and protocols).

6. Refer patients to other providers (where appropriate)

7. Tele-consult with patients when outside of the nurse’s scope

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree.

2. Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

3. Official license to practice.

4. Valid drivers’ license with own reliable transport.

Desirable Qualifications

1. MSc or Diploma in Clinical Trials.

2. Diploma in Occupational Health.

Required Experience

1. Minimum three years’ experience within a general practice.

Desirable Experience

1. Clinical trial exposure.

2. Prior exposure to an oncology HIV, Oncology and Diabetes.

Required Knowledge and Skills

1. Ability to function and operate with sound clinical and business acumen.

2. Leadership and management skills.

3. Effective communication at all levels throughout the business
