JOB PURPOSE
To assist in the erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding and temporary works under direct supervision, ensuring all tasks are performed safely, in compliance with site procedures, legal requirements, and approved risk assessments.
MINIMUM TRAINING & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must have the following valid training and certifications:
- Working at Heights
- Scaffold Hand Training
- Confined Space Entry
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Medical Fitness Certificate, including Working at Heights
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2–3 years’ construction experience. Previous experience in scaffolding, shutdowns, or industrial environments will be an advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Health, Safety & Compliance- Ensure that no work is performed without permission from the appointed Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Ensure that a task-specific risk assessment (TSRA/DSTI) is conducted with supervision before any scaffolding or temporary works activities commence.
- Comply at all times with the control measures implemented to manage identified hazards.
- Immediately stop all work activities if supervision is no longer present and only resume once supervision or a designated Team Leader is reinstated.
- Do not perform any work unless the required training has been provided and confirmed.
- Do not participate in scaffolding or temporary works erection or dismantling without a valid medical fitness certificate, including working at heights.
