Geology Database Administrator

SUMMARY:
Orovide technical database support and expertise in a multi-disciplinary team to the Copper operations in Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Geology Database Administrator

Based In Johannesburg and to Travel into Africa as and when required

Work Experience:

•            10+ years of experience across base and precious metals

•            Prior experience managing site geological databases (Datamine Fusion experience preferred).

Minimum Qualifications:

•            Tertiary Qualification in Geology

ACCOUNTABILITY:

As a key member of the Technical Services Team, you will provide technical database support and expertise in a multi-disciplinary team to the Copper operations in Africa.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

•            Members of the Copper Technical Services Team

•            On-site Technical Services Team and Operations Executives

•            Liaise with geologists and geo-technicians on data capture and QAQC protocols, all internal clients that require geological data, and externally with consultants, laboratories, and software providers.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

•            Ensure that all database procedures are current.

•            Ensure that all QAQC procedures are current and follow best industry standards.

•            Ensure that robust data validation processes are in place.

•            Guarantee delivery of validated data to all clients.

•            Develop and improve database functionality (Specifically by creating fit for purpose reports).

•            Maintain up to date knowledge of geological database and QAQC developments.

•            Provide Database and QAQC training as needed.

•            Production (drilling, sampling etc.) and QAQC reporting.

•            Effectively communicate to all levels of stakeholders.
