POSITION INFO:

Performing site assessments to evaluate soil, rock, and groundwater conditions
Creating stable and safe designs for foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks
Providing expert guidance on soil mechanics and geotechnical principles, working with cross-functional teams
Conducting advanced geotechnical analysis using specialized software
Overseeing construction to meet geotechnical specifications
Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices
Managing the implementation of geotechnical design solutions

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
Valid driver’s license and strong communication skills
Proficient in report writing and Microsoft Office Suite
Experienced in project management and meeting deadlines
Knowledgeable in relevant legislation and geotechnical design codes
Familiar with Department of Transport and SANRAL design methodologies (TMH21)
Skilled in geotechnical software and modeling tools
Expertise in geotechnical design and analysis according to local and international standards

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is an advantage
