SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Main Purpose of The Job

  • A special project to review approximately 700 non-performing rental agreements allocated to determine whether legal action is required; and
  • Where it has been determined that legal action is required, ensure that the minimum handover criteria has been met; and
  • Where legal action is not appropriate, support the collections agents to facilitate collections of the account or handover to an External Debt Collection Agency.
  • Provide summary report to management in terms of progress

 

Key Responsibilities       

  • Review of Identified Cases within Time
  • Customer and Stakeholder Management
  • Record Management
  • The ability to persuade the debtor to pay the overdue amount and to ensure debtor continues keeps his accounts up to date
  • The ability to negotiate a payment arrangement with the debtor and ensure such arrangements are honoured
  • The ability to apply collections and credit knowledge to decide at what point an escalation to Legal is appropriate
  • Knowledge and understanding of the all products offered in the bank and the credit criteria utilised to approve such products

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant 3 year degree with specialization in Commerce, Credit Risk Management or Law
  • Experience in legal support or similar role preferably in a banking of financial services environment.
  • Rental and Capital Equipment Industry Knowledge and expertise
