Graphic & Visual Designer

Main Purpose of the Role:

  • The creation of visual concepts using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.
  • The development of the overall layout and production design for traditional and digital media, to meet company objectives.
  • The ability to create a unified brand image & voice across digital platforms

Reports to:

  • Marketing Operations Manager

1.

Graphic Design

  • The ability to work on a wide range of projects and media, using various computer software packages to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals.
  • Ability to communicate a specific idea through each graphic representation.
  • Ensure designs meet both global standards, organizational standards and brand expectations. Express ideas accurately according to supplied guidelines and represent the company and brand appropriately.
  • Work both independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with the marketing team and commercial divisions, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, scheduling project implementation based on workload - which may include multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Examine existing brief, design and approval processes -identifying flaws and creating solutions to improve design capabilities and output.
  • Update and maintain internal databases of designs, stock and lifestyle imagery, photography and video content.
  • Video editing experience advantageous.
  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams for a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, digital brand collateral, signage, internal communication, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
  • Develop concepts by hand or with software based on benchmarking, research and positioning information and execute original content determining ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Manage the design & uploading process of all project material, understanding best practices for using a content management system.
  • Use trend intelligence and an understanding of the current and historical business and market to design and execute specific classifications.
  • Visual storytelling that engages, informs and inspires.
  • Ability to take conceptual ideas and create visual

Representations, for both traditional & digital media.

  • Expert knowledge of current design software.
  • Skilled to handle every step of the design process from concept to final deliverable.
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of all outputs essential.
  • Proof reading design content for error, prior to submission for final approval.
  • Staying abreast of all updates to design related processes and techniques.

Visual Design

  • Craft a unified image for various brands distributed by the company.
  • Conveying a specific brand voice across digital platforms.
  • Determine and maintain brand image at large across digital and web platforms.
  • Ensuring that the voice, look and feel of the brand remain consistent.
  • Logo, icon & presentation design.
  • Continual update of the local company and dealer related CI documents.
  • Ability to work on the back end of various websites. NOP

Content creation

  • The creation of engaging, data driven raw and finalized content
  • specific to the Southern African demographic and acquired
  • company data sets, as per strategy, in conjunction with Key
  • Accounts, Marketing Operations Manager & General Manager:
  • Marketing
  • Build of brand awareness: attract, win and retain clients through the customer journey – as reflected through graphic design.
  • Engage current and potential customers in lifestyle conversation and acquire new customers through lifestyle evangelization: example - I Play Company concepts.

Administration

  • Establish a network of reliable graphic related service providers.
  • Keep records of meetings, agreements and discussions.
  • Administrational support as required by the Operations
  • Manager, including but not limited to: reporting and budget preparational input.
  • Quantitative reasoning: the justification of activities and spendthrough the gain of data. Ensure that relevant data is collected
  • from all marketing initiatives for ingestion into the company CRM system.
  • Stays abreast of relevant design, marketing & digital marketing
  • trends, changes, platforms and technologies and ensures proficiency therewith.
  • Time management essential.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of all outputs essential.
