POSITION INFO:
Reporting directly to the Master Grower, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily greenhouse operations, leading cultivation staff, and ensuring optimal plant health, productivity, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in commercial cannabis cultivation and greenhouse management who is passionate about producing high-quality cannabis while maintaining operational excellence. The Greenhouse Supervisor will play a key role in supporting cultivation, phenotype evaluation, post-harvest activities, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated cannabis production environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day greenhouse cultivation activities from propagation through harvest. Lead, train, mentor, and manage cultivation technicians and greenhouse staff. Implement cultivation plans and production schedules developed by the Master Grower. Monitor plant health and identify nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and environmental stress factors. Oversee irrigation, fertigation, pruning, trellising, defoliation, integrated pest management (IPM), and harvesting activities. Ensure environmental parameters, including temperature, humidity, lighting, COâ levels, and airflow, are maintained within target ranges. Maintain accurate cultivation records, crop performance data, inventory tracking, and compliance documentation. Coordinate labour allocation and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor greenhouse equipment and systems, reporting maintenance requirements promptly to minimize operational disruptions. Assist in yield forecasting, crop planning, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Collect and maintain detailed cultivation and trial data to support breeding, genetic preservation, phenotype evaluation, and cultivar selection programs. Support post-harvest operations, including drying, curing, trimming, and storage activities to ensure product quality, consistency, cannabinoid preservation, and terpene retention. Ensure all cultivation and post-harvest activities comply with company policies, quality standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. Support the Master Grower in achieving production targets, quality objectives, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement goals. Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in the cannabis cultivation industry. Strong knowledge of cannabis cultivation practices, plant nutrition, irrigation management, integrated pest management (IPM), and environmental control systems. Demonstrated experience supervising cultivation teams within a commercial greenhouse or indoor cannabis production facility. Experience operating within regulated cannabis production environments. Thorough understanding of cannabis plant biology, growth cycles, cultivation techniques, and crop management practices. Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize workloads, and consistently achieve production targets. Strong organizational, planning, and record-keeping skills. Experience maintaining cultivation records, crop data, inventory controls, and compliance documentation. Ability to work flexible hours during critical cultivation cycles, harvest periods, and operational requirements. Preferred Qualifications Degree, diploma, or certification in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field. Experience with commercial-scale greenhouse cannabis production. Knowledge of GACP, GMP, or other relevant quality assurance and compliance standards. Familiarity with cultivation software, environmental monitoring systems, and data management platforms. Experience with cannabis drying and curing processes and an understanding of the impact of post-harvest handling on product quality, potency, and shelf life. Knowledge and practical experience in phenotype hunting (pheno-hunting), including cultivar evaluation, trait selection, data collection, and mother plant selection. Experience supporting breeding, genetic preservation, or cultivar development programs.
