Ground Courier

POSITION INFO:

The Ground Courier is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate collection and delivery of parcels within assigned routes. The role requires strict adherence to operational procedures, accurate documentation, consistent communication with supervisors, and maintaining service standards throughout all deliveries and collections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report on time and follow daily clock-in procedures
• Sort, palletise, and prepare cargo for assigned routes
• Verify cargo against delivery documentation before departure
• Execute deliveries according to service standards
• Maintain continuous communication with supervisor during routes
• Report delivery issues immediately (e.g., incorrect address, no contact person)
• Complete Proof of Delivery (POD) accurately and timeously
• Ensure early morning deliveries are completed before 09H00
• Perform collection runs and meet all deadlines
• Ensure all collection documentation is correctly completed
• Weigh, measure, and return collected cargo to base
• Hand over all parcels and documentation to supervisor for processing
• Secure vehicle and complete end-of-day procedures

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and PDP
• Minimum 1 year logistics experience
• Good knowledge of local routes and areas
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 20–25kg parcels
• Ability to work in a fast-paced delivery environment
• Employment Equity Candidate (Female – African) in line with company EE policy
