JOB SUMMARY:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the day to day administration and coordinating functions within the Automation department.

  • Responsible for all Instrumentation Technicians.
  • Able to lead, coach and train technicians on robots and plc systems.
  • Individuals with the skills and competencies below will be considered for the position.

Key Performance Areas

  • Responsible for all maintenance and preventative maintenance in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Monitor and analyze downtime and put corrective action in place.
  • To support subordinates in break downs.
  • Plan and see to those projects stay on target allocated to individual.

Key Skills and Competencies External

  • Repair and maintain press/assembly machinery to ensure customer and company quality standards are met.
  • Do fault finding and preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedule and according to job cards and relevant works instruction.
  • Compile feedback on time sheets to ensure accurate repair data and forward to the Maintenance and Process Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure that company procedures, works instructions and quality systems are always adhered to.
  • Participate actively in the departmental M2S as per company requirements.
  • Ensure work practices comply with company SHEQ procedures and works instructions.
  • Shut down planning and ensure all critical spares are available at all times.
  • Drive backup and Robot/PLC optimization for press lines.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required

  • National Diploma or B-Tech Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Trade or Millwright (optional)
  • Minimum 5years' experience as a Millwright in the electrical field within an automotive.
  • Extensive working knowledge of KUKA KRC 4, TIA PORTAL , Integra wave 4 , PLC programming, Siemens S5 & S7, Festo and Fidia
  • Robotic experience of KUKA, ABB
  • Technical techniques, good welding and Bosch systems technology
  • Fault finding and Press machinery repair and maintenance
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Basic understanding of quality systems
