POSITION INFO:
Our client, a growing organisation within the renewable energy sector, is seeking an accomplished Group CFO to join the business on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on executive opportunity for a commercially minded CA(SA) who enjoys building finance functions, strengthening governance, and partnering with leadership to support a business during a critical stage of growth. With significant operational setup currently taking place, you'll play a key role in establishing scalable financial processes, implementing robust controls, and ensuring the finance function is positioned to support both current operations and future expansion. This is an opportunity for an executive who thrives in dynamic environments where strategic thinking is matched by operational execution. Leading a team of five direct reports, including Financial Accountants, Accountants, Creditors and a Project Accountant, you'll take ownership of management accounts, cash flow, financial reporting and the overall performance of the finance function. Working on Xero, you'll provide the financial leadership needed to create stability, visibility and commercial value across the organisation. What's in it for you? Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the Group finance function. Prepare and review monthly management accounts and executive reporting. Manage cash flow, forecasting and working capital. Establish and strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting processes. Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of five direct reports. Support business setup, finance process implementation and operational transformation. Partner with executive leadership to provide commercial and strategic financial insight. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and reporting requirements. Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: CA(SA) qualification is non-negotiable. Experience: 8-10 years' experience in a senior financial leadership role. Proven renewable energy industry experience is essential. Demonstrated success building or transforming finance functions. Strong experience with management accounts, cash flow management and executive reporting. Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary finance teams. Skills: Xero experience is essential. Advanced Microsoft Excel. Strong commercial and strategic acumen. Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Apply now!
