SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity has become available at a leading insurer for an admitted attorney and company secretary.

POSITION INFO:

As the Group Company Secretary and General Counsel you will:

Act as deputy to the Executive: Governance, Legal and Compliance in respect of the governance and general counsel responsibilities specifically.
You will be a member of GLC Manco and responsible to ensure compliance with Companies Act, Regulatory Requirements, especially JSE Listings Requirements and Prudential Standards, as well as Corporate Governance Best Practice.
You will offer general and corporate/commercial legal advice, including mergers and acquisitions and related commercial legal arrangements.

The requirements for the role are:

• Matric
• Appropriate Legal degree
• Admitted attorney
• CIS
• 5-7 years Company Secretarial Experience in a listed company, preferably financial services as a Group or Assistant Group Secretary
• 5 years commercial, corporate legal and/or mergers and acquisitions and/or general counsel experience
