An established group of schools based in Brooklyn, Pretoria, is seeking an experienced Group Educational Psychologist to join their team. This position offers flexibility — ideal for someone with an existing private practice looking for a half-day commitment, or a professional seeking a full-time opportunity within an educational environment.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of learners across multiple campuses in South Africa. The role involves designing and implementing psycho-educational and well-being programmes, providing counselling support, and guiding educators and parents on learner challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct psycho-educational assessments to identify learning or emotional barriers.

Provide individual and group interventions for learners.

Develop and monitor wellness and support programmes across schools.

Train and advise educators and parents on learner wellbeing.

Ensure compliance with HPCSA and Department of Education guidelines.

Offer professional support and mentorship to school-based counsellors and interns.
Requirements

Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology (essential)

Registration with the HPCSA as an Educational Psychologist (essential)

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in school-based counselling or learner support

Valid driver’s licence and clear police clearance

Strong communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills

Compassionate, ethical, and collaborative mindset
Advantageous

Training in trauma counselling or learning difficulties

Experience working across multiple school environments
