POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee legal and compliance risks through effective systems, teams, and processes.
Track compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain an updated policy repository.
Conduct compliance monitoring and ensure a robust compliance framework.
Identify and mitigate non-compliance risks, and develop relevant policies.
Plan and deliver communication and training programs on compliance.
Ensure periodic internal audits and provide professional legal advice.
Manage registration of deeds, property rights, and business licenses.
Advise on tender processes and support contract management.
Drive continuous improvement in legal and compliance functions.
Attend board meetings, providing legal and commercial advice.
Manage the whistle-blower hotline and report to EXCO and the Board.

Minimum Requirements:

Degree in Commercial Law, B.Com Law, or equivalent.
10 years of legal and compliance management experience
Expertise in corporate governance, data security, and stock exchange fundamentals.

Duties:

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Maintain and update the central policy repository.
Deliver actions and initiatives on time and within budget.
Provide accurate reporting and ad hoc legal opinions.
Implement and monitor compliance risk management plans.
Maintain compliance risk profiles and communicate new legislation.
Propose and implement compliance awareness programs.
Keep proper records for all compliance initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and deliver projects on time.
