POSITION INFO:

Role Function
The role Group Lead of People Governance is a new capability to the HR team and as such, developing this capability within the HR team including monitoring & evaluation of operational HR processes and service delivery against the operating model and other linked collateral (policies, processes etc.) will be a key strategic and tactical focus. The role aims to achieve governance practice integration and management throughout the HR team identifying and jointly mitigating HR risks, facilitating the internal functional risk assurance activities whilst interfacing with internal audit for further assurance activities. The role supports the full HR team by creating alignment across the different functional areas and ensuring strong integration of HR practices and related policies and processes as well as building robust business continuity plans. The role works closely with the Group Risk and Compliance team to ensure compliance with Group Governance and alignment with best practice.


Duties
ï‚§ Developing a People Oversight and Governance Strategy which ensures that HR policies and strategies and business processes are being implemented as intended and that key risks are identified, monitored and mitigated.
ï‚§ Managing implementation of the HR Oversight and Governance Strategy against agreed timeframes, budget and report against performance measures.
ï‚§ Managing the definition, implementation, ongoing review and monitoring of compliance to HR policies, procedures and processes in conjunction with the greater solutions team.
ï‚§ Managing HR audits, resolution of audit findings and confirming that mitigation plans are in place to mitigate people risks.
ï‚§ Managing the definition and management of employee contracts.
ï‚§ Monitoring compliance to the regulation associated with psychometric assessments performed within the company.
ï‚§ Managing the procurement of services for the HR function.
ï‚§ Monitoring HR projects/ programmes and reporting on progress.
ï‚§ Managing third parties and associated contract management processes.
ï‚§ Driving statutory reporting activities related to HR.
ï‚§ Managing the implementation of effective knowledge management processes within the HR function.
ï‚§ Managing HR BCM Planning in conjunction with the greater solutions team.
ï‚§ Developing and leading the Group People Oversight and Governance team to deliver People Oversight and Governance services to HR Solutions and Services.
ï‚§ Driving enablement of an innovative, agile and employee centric culture where employees are supported, empowered and valued within Group People Oversight and Governance (including employee wellness and transparent communication)
ï‚§ Managing Financial, Reporting and BI functions for the department
ï‚§ Developing a budget for People Oversight and Governance.
ï‚§ Managing Group People Oversight and Governance costs.
ï‚§ Ensuring data accuracy, integrity and maintenance for People Oversight and Governance
ï‚§ Ensuring that the People Oversight and Governance complies with relevant labour relations frameworks and legislation.
ï‚§ Ensuring compliance to the Enterprise Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies, procedures and standards.
ï‚§ Implementing People Oversight and Governance structures, policies, processes, procedures and frameworks.
ï‚§ Ensuring the identification and mitigation of risks in the People function.
ï‚§ Ensuring Group People Oversight and Governance are appropriately structured and resourced to deliver on its mandate with the right people in the right roles with the right capabilities at the right time.
ï‚§ Ensuring Group Recruitment integration and effective flow of work with other solution areas.
ï‚§ Identifying relevant People Oversight and Governance technology requirements and ensuring optimal utilisation thereof.
ï‚§ Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in People Oversight and Governance processes.

Minimum Requirements:
ï‚§ Degree & Post Graduate Degree in HR/ Legal or equivalent
ï‚§ 6+ years in a Senior/ Lead Governance/ Compliance/ Risk Management/ Auditing role within a Group HR context, whereby trending best practices related to Governance, governance frameworks, relevant policies, procedures and guidelines for were established
ï‚§ A solid history leading HR Governance within a large, national or international organisation (preference to Retail/ FMCG/ Call Centre, where there is demonstrable knowledge of HR practices, HR policies, procedures, legislation and regulations and an understanding of the Governance opportunities and challenges in a decentralised HR service delivery model.
ï‚§ Exposure to statutory requirements, applying and monitoring relevant laws, regulations and best practices as they relate to People Governance and Compliance.
ï‚§ B-BBEE knowledge and practical implementation strategies to deliver a transformed, diverse and inclusive environment.
ï‚§ A sound understanding of diversity and inclusion concepts and processes and the link between employment equity and good HR practices. Exposure to how employment equity impacts B-BBBEE levels.
ï‚§ Sound knowledge of HR policies, procedures, legislation and regulations.
