SUMMARY:
A luxury lodge and hotel group based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Group Revenue Manager, to be based in either Cape Town or Johannesburg, to lead the reservations and revenue strategy across its portfolio. The Revenue Manager is specifically responsible for managing the reservations and revenue process for The Cape Milner Hotel, while also overseeing online revenue performance for the entire group. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 – 8 years’ experience in revenue management within a hotel or lodge group, and possess strong relationships with online travel agencies, booking platforms, and distribution partners. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, independent, and target-driven, with a proven ability to optimise pricing, forecast demand, and maximise occupancy and profitability.
As a Group Revenue Manager, your primary objective is to maximise profitability by ensuring rooms are sold to the right customers, at the right price, and at the right time. You achieve this through strategic pricing, inventory control, and distribution channel management, while continuously refining revenue strategies and identifying opportunities for additional income across the group.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Management Strategy:– Develop and implement dynamic pricing strategies to maximise revenue and occupancy across the group
– Analyse market trends and demand forecasts to guide pricing decisions
– Collaborate with the GM and Head of Sales on targeted promotions and rate strategies
– Perform daily yield management across online booking platforms
– Maintain and optimise direct booking rates on company websites
– Conduct regular competitor pricing reviews and lead weekly positioning discussions
Inventory & Rate Management:– Oversee inventory control processes to ensure availability aligns with demand
– Ensure accurate rate loading and seamless integration across all platforms
– Maintain consistent pricing across direct websites and OTAs
– Build and manage room and package rates specifically for The Cape Milner
OTA & Online Channel Management:– Oversee and maintain all online booking portals, ensuring accurate and timely updates
– Implement pricing strategies across platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, Hotelbeds, Book Now, and Travel Ground
– Regularly update specials and promotions on OTAs and the Extraordinary website
– Expand and optimise OTA listings for all properties to increase visibility and reach
– Monitor and manage online occupancy levels to maximise revenue
– Track daily OTA performance metrics, including enquiries, conversions, and statistics
Sales & Reservations:
– Manage daily reservation sales activities for The Cape Milner hotel
– Monitor and analyse hotel and group-wide online revenue performance
– Generate and present regular revenue reports to key stakeholders
– Participate in strategic meetings and collaborate across departments to align revenue goals
Demand Forecasting:
– Analyse historical booking data, market trends, and external factors such as seasonal patterns, economic indicators, and local events to anticipate future demand
– Utilise forecasting models and algorithms to generate accurate demand predictions
– Monitor booking pace and reservation patterns to adjust pricing and inventory strategies in real time
– Support strategic decision-making by providing data-driven insights that align with revenue goals
Minimum Experience & Requirements- 5 to 8 years’ experience in revenue management within the hospitality industry, specifically in a luxury lodge and hotel environment
- Strong understanding of hotel revenue management concepts, pricing strategies, and inventory control
- Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and solve complex problems
- Experience with group reservations and room block processes
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Valid RSA ID
- Presentable, dynamic, flexible, and a proactive team player
- Minimum of a Matric certificate; further education or formal training in revenue management is advantageous
