SUMMARY:
A prominent mining organization is seeking an experienced and strategic Group SHEQ Manager to lead and oversee its Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) portfolio across multiple operations. This senior management role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of mining safety regulations, governance frameworks, and ISO management systems.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHEQ systems across all mining operations.
Ensure full compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other applicable legislation.
Direct and manage DMRE inspections, audits, and investigations, including Section 54/55 matters.
Champion the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 9001 (Quality), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) management systems.
Develop SHEQ strategies aligned with business objectives and sustainability goals.
Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and prepare detailed SHEQ reports for executive leadership and regulatory bodies.
Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement ethos across all levels of the organization.
Oversee training, development, and performance management of SHEQ teams across various sites.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 10 years of SHEQ experience in a mining environment, including senior-level leadership.
In-depth knowledge of SHEQ governance, mining legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
Direct experience in handling DMRE investigations and compliance matters.
Proven track record in successfully implementing and maintaining ISO 14001, 9001, and 45001 systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
Professional certifications such as SAMTRAC, COMSOC, or equivalent are advantageous.
