JOB SUMMARY:
Are you a technical accountant with specialist knowledge of IFRS standards and experience within the financial services industry? We are looking for you.

One of our clients in the financial services industry is looking for a Group Technical Accountant to join their team. This is a top management role based in Bellville, Cape Town. The individual they are looking for will be responsible for the technical aspect of the financial function in Group financial reporting. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties:

Support IFRS 17 implementation for management reporting
Preparation of other subsidiary financial statements and management of audit process
General IFRS technical support to the rest of the group, including training sessions (group and/or individual)
Audit liaison during interim and year-end reporting periods
Review of and support technical working papers that serve as input to the annual financial statements and integrated report. Depending on capacity within the team, it could also include the compiling thereof
Other JSE related reporting requirements: Completion of checklists, SENS announcement, summarised results, advertisements (but not limited to).
Functional and user acceptance testing of all relevant systems as and when required
Ad Hoc tasks as required
Assist with development and finalization of IFRS 17 compliant financial statements and management reports

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric
BCom/BCom Honours
Qualified CA(SA)

Experience:

3-4 years post articles experience within the financial services industry is required
Completed articles within one of the big 4 audit firms will be advantageous
Experience with SAP 4 Hanna, Hyperion Financial Management, Walker
Specialist knowledge and understanding of IFRS standards. IFRS 17 will be highly preferred
