SUMMARY:
HEAD OF TECHNICAL SALES
POSITION INFO:
Manage various departments in Tenders and Projects, Sales, Applicatio Engineering, Product Management and Field Service.
Work hand in hand with the head of sales to ensure the sales operations runs incessant and customers’ needs are met and exceeded.
Report to the General Manager and all duties are associated with the Southern African Office and the service delivery space in which the office operates.
Oversee the entire projects department while also seeking new opportunities to inflate the annual project offers and proposals. Foster long-term, trusting relationships with our current clients.
• Gather relevant value adding information on allocated Projects to offer the best possible offer to clients and to execute an informed sales plan.
• Provide after-sales support to clients and sales teams. Get the essential feedback on commissioning from the Technical Sales and Application engineers
• Guide the applications engineers on the process flows and equipment or our product offering
• Build strong client relationships, through regular communication and meetings with your teams
• Be involved with client relationship building activities and travelling to sites across the continents to meet or oversee project installations.
• Report on the status of Projects, value, submission process, discounts offered, and potential cash flows
• Follow up on tenders submitted with the assistance of the relevant Sales Representatives
• Driving the entire project process from first contact until the invoicing of the project and from time-to-time commissioning assistance.
• Overview projects management on all projects received
• Reviewing tender proposals
• Project rating and classification and historian building
Qualifications and experience needed
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 4-year Degree in Engineering (Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical)
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in related Processing or Engineering Field
- Pump installations and Pumping applications experience will be advantageous
- Work experience in a pump equipment sales environment in the marketing and sales of slurry pumps would be beneficial
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to present to large audiences are also required with knowledge of processing equipment and processing plants
- Technical Background (Understand & read technical Drawings)
- Admin - quote registers; sales forecasting; sales budgets, EXCO reporting
- Communicator - Handle customer needs & customer complaints
- Handle stress in breakdown situations and tight deadlines
- Plan & use own initiative
- Follow – up on quotes, as well as pursue back orders & lead times
